Kids will learn how to improve their communication skills, and manage strong emotions, all while making new friends in this 8-week class. This class uses a therapeutic deck of trading cards, (designed by an O.T.) for children on the Autism Spectrum. Using a deck of "Ryuu" fantasy dragon cards, kids helps the different dragons choose the best way to respond to imaginary social situations. ("Ryuu" means dragon). Each dragon represents either a positive or negative emotion that your child most likely struggles with in their daily interactions at school. Once they meet the dragon "Empathar", or "Indifference", they begin to relate the quirks of these cute dragons to their own behavior. This increases self-awareness, and tolerance of other other kids' feelings.
Time/Dates: This class meets every Saturday morning at 11 AM for 8 weeks.
